We believe that Jesus Christ took on human form and lived an absolutely perfect life. We believe that he was sacrificed in our place as an atonement for our sin, and was buried in a tomb for three days. On the third day, he rose from the dead, defeating Satan, sin, and death. The Gospel is the announcement that Jesus has fought our battle, secured victory, and ensured our freedom. Due to the work of Christ on our behalf, God really does look at us as chosen, holy, and as his people.
The Gospel not only saves us from the penalty of our sin (Romans 3:23-24), but also from the present power of sin in our lives. The Gospel is effective for both Christians and non-Christians. Through its power, anyone can be reconciled to God, and after that reconciliation, our lives are renewed. By God’s grace, we are learning as a church to allow Jesus’ work to saturate our lives. We desire to be a Gospel-centered people.
We live our lives together, with authenticity and transparency. Accountability, care, and a sense of belonging are critical to balance and progress in our spiritual journey. We work to achieve these things through small groups of community. A community group at Cornerstone is a place for believers to apply the Gospel to each  another’s lives as they live out the mission of God together.
