Choose Best
What does it really mean to serve God, and can we ever get so busy doing good things that we miss the best thing? That is the tension at the heart of this message, drawn from the familiar story of Mary and Martha in Luke 10:38-42. Martha is working hard, pouring herself into hospitality and service, while Mary simply sits at the feet of Jesus and listens. When Martha complains, Jesus does not rebuke her love for serving. He gently redirects her toward something better. This message challenges us to examine whether we have confused the order of our priorities, loving our neighbor before we have truly learned to love the Lord. The spiritual insight here is not that work is wrong, but that work disconnected from a deep, abiding relationship with Christ becomes hollow. We explore what it looks like to love God first and most, allowing that love to naturally overflow into how we serve others. If we have ever felt spiritually exhausted despite doing all the right things, this message speaks directly to that experience and points us back to the one thing that is truly necessary.
